Student activity

Use the A3 activity sheet to help you think about what you would do if you were in charge of your home region in Wales.

  • Use a local map either an OS Map or a GIS map such as Google Earth on Satellite View. Firstly annotate your map using a colour code for the different aspects of infrastructure that are present in your region.
  • Next, identify very important (critical) parts of infrastructure that are missing. Use your local knowledge to help you to do this. Construct a list in rank order with the most important at the top.
  • Continue with the A3 sheet to help to build up a picture of the infrastructure that will be necessary for Wales to build its economy so that more people are earning more money and standards of living can improve.

In the next edition we will complete a DME (Decision Making Exercise) by looking at proposed infrastructure projects in Wales and why they are important or possibly why they may benefit some but not all of the people of Wales.
